Not only did we celebrate the first of our Honey & Co Sunday wine clubs* yesterday but it also produced an outstanding match of the week: this savoury-sweet Palestinian chicken dish and a valpolicella ripasso.

If you’re on holiday in the wilds of nowhere chances are your only shop - in the UK at least - is a Spar. I would at one point have said that spelled death to the chance of a decent bottle of wine but was recently sent a selection which really wasn’t half bad.

This lighted wreath which I bought in the sale at @coxandcox has been the best addition to my Christmas decs this year. When it arrived it was HUGE - I’d forgotten to take the measurements - but miraculously fitted perfectly over my bedroom mirror where it sheds a magical light over the room. Which of course makes it spendy for a snack but you could pull the same trick with lumpfish roe. The schnitzel would be a bit more of a hassle to make at home but it was very very good. Add a glass (or two) of champagne and the top notch company of @thaneeprince and you have the perfect Christmas lunch. Also an utterly dreamy plate of ricotta and cavolo nero agnolotti with pumpkin and sage butter under a billowy cloud of parmesan. (The pasta is always worth ordering but enough for two if you have other dishes so I’d share.)
